The Significance of Maintaining Good Oral Health
Taking care of your smile is crucial for your overall health, not just for your teeth and gums. Studies have shown a link between periodontal disease, the main reason for adult tooth loss, and serious health issues like heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and respiratory problems.
Here at Dennis Dental Care, we prioritize preventing, identifying, and addressing periodontal disease. Our goal is to offer patients the assistance, tools, and care necessary to uphold exceptional periodontal health.
What is gingivitis?
Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease and may not be painful, but it does show specific signs. If you see your gums bleeding, red and swollen, or feeling tender while brushing, you may have gingivitis.
The good news is that early treatment of gingivitis can stop further damage and prevent it from progressing to more severe stages of gum disease. Despite inflammation, the overall health of the gums is usually still good at this point.
Taking care of gingivitis quickly can often reverse the condition and prevent long-term damage. Effective treatment includes deep dental cleanings, better oral hygiene practices at home, and regular dental checkups to stop the disease from getting worse.
